The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, in its efforts to foster religious harmony and strengthen community support extended donations to the Muslim Community in the municipality on the 26th May 2026 ahead of the 2026 Eid-ul-Adha Celebration. This donation took place at some selected Mosques within the Municipality namely Tesano Mosque, Legon Mosque, Abelemkpe Mosque, La-Bawaleshie Mosque, Okponglo Central Mosque , Alhaji Salia Mosque and Borstal Mosque. The presentation was led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Michael Mensah and assisted by the Assembly Members for the respective Areas of the Mosques and some Heads of Departments.
In his address, the MCE stated that this donation is to enable the underprivileged members of the community who may not be able to afford a sacrificial animal to fully partake in the celebrations as well as be included in the joy and significance of Eid. He further took the opportunity to advised the Residents on some key civic issues especially during this festive period. He highlighted the need to maintain proper sanitation habit and adhere to Road Safety rules.
The items were received by the Imams of the Respective Mosques on behalf of the Muslim community, they expressed their appreciation for the timely support and acknowledged the Assembly’s continuous effort in fostering peaceful coexistence across Religious lines.
