The office was officially opened in September 2019 with Ms Margaret Kaba as the first Director to date. The key mandate of the Education Directorate is to be in charge of the Management and Supervision of all Pre-tertiary (Basic, SHS, Vocational, and Technical) schools both private and public within the Municipalty. 

The Ayawaso West Municipal Education Office is located at Roman Ridge near the Roman Ridge Basic M/A School and the James Camp Prisons. The office has its GPS address as GA-059-7925.

Our mission is to provide high-quality education in a respectful inclusive environment that builds a foundation for lifelong learning for the children in all schools in the Municipality. 

VISION 

The vision is to be the best Education Directorate that uses the available resources to create a safe learning community in all schools in the Municipality for children to feel loved, respected, and encouraged to develop their fullest potential. 

Schools under the Education Directorate are categorised into two Circuits, namely Abelenkpe Circuit and Maamobi Circuit. Under these Circuits are thirteen (13) public schools which are;

Also, there are forty-two private schools which are registered under the Directorate.
