The Municipal Chief Executive for Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly Hon Dr. Micheal Mensah on Wednesday 25th June 2025, held is first engagement with the Traditional Authorities and council of the Ayawaso West Municipality. The gathering served as a platform for the MCE to formally introduce himself, share his vision for the municipality and solicit their concerns and recommendations for effective development in the municipality.
The meeting brought together the chiefs and representative of the six traditional councils from the Mempeasem, La Bawaleshie, Abotsiman, Okponglo, Shiashie and Dzorwulu/Abelempke traditional areas. Also present at the occasion were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Bernard K.P. Sakyiama, some Assembly Members and officers of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly.
In his address, the MCE outlined key developmental priorities and emphasized the need for strong collaboration with traditional leadership in the development and growth of the municipality. He assured them of his commitment to inclusive development and promised to work hand in hand with them to resolve pressing issues in their respective communities in the development of the municipality.
The Traditional Chiefs warmly welcomed the MCE and commended the Assembly for such initiative. They also outlined several challenges in their communities which included sanitation, building of infrastructure, youth empowerment and pledged their support to solve these issues.
The MCE expressed his appreciation for their continued support and assured them of his dedication to strengthen the unity and cooperation between the Assembly and Traditional Authorities to resolve these challenges and promote the development of the municipality.
