The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, Hon. Dr. Michael Mensah, held an engagement with the management and staff of Abelenkpe 2 Basic School on 10th June, 2026 as part of his efforts to interact with stakeholders and gain first-hand information on challenges affecting education delivery within the municipality.
The meeting provided an opportunity for teachers to discuss issues affecting the school and to share suggestions aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions. The concerns raised centered on infrastructure, sanitation, security, and the need for improvements to educational facilities to enhance academic work and the welfare of both staff and pupils.
Addressing the gathering, the MCE expressed his appreciation to the teachers for their dedication and commitment to nurturing the next generation. He assured them that the Assembly remains committed to supporting educational institutions and would carefully review the concerns presented for possible intervention and inclusion in the Assembly's development plans.
The teachers commended the MCE for the visit and described the engagement as a welcome initiative that allowed them to directly interact with the Assembly on matters affecting the school. They expressed optimism that the discussions would lead to positive improvements in the learning environment. The engagement formed part of the Assembly's broader commitment to stakeholder participation and collaborative development in the municipality.
