The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Michael Mensah, on 10th June 2026 donated school uniforms and mosquito nets to pupils of Abelenkpe 2 Basic School as part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting quality education and improving the welfare of school children within the municipality.
As part of the donation, each primary school pupil received two sets of school uniforms for both boys and girls to help ease the burden on parents and guardians and ensure that pupils attend school in appropriate attire. Additionally, mosquito nets were distributed to pupils in Basic Two and Basic Six to help protect them from mosquito-borne diseases and promote healthy living among school children.
Addressing the pupils, Hon. Dr. Michael Mensah engaged them in an interactive session by asking about their future career aspirations. The pupils enthusiastically shared their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, engineers, nurses, and other professionals. In response, the Municipal Chief Executive encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies, emphasizing that with hard work, determination, and perseverance, they could achieve their dreams and become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
He further stated that the Assembly’s donation of the school uniforms formed part of its efforts to support pupils in their educational journey and create an enabling environment for them to excel academically. He assured the pupils of the Assembly’s continued commitment to initiatives that promote their growth, development, and well-being.
The Head Teacher of Abelenkpe 2 Basic School, Mr. Oku-Afari Yeboah, expressed profound appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Assembly for the generous support. He indicated that the donation would go a long way in motivating the pupils and enhancing their educational experience.
