The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Regional Minister on behalf of the Vice- President donated sanitary pads to Dzorwulu Special School on 18^th March 2026.The event was attended by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo,the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. John Setor Dumelo, the Municipal Chief Executive ,Hon.Dr. Michael Mensah, Chief Director of the Regional Coordinating  Council, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Gordon Dormayele, the newly elected Presiding Member of Ayawaso West, Hon. Adjei Tutuani Emmanuel, the  Education Directorate, Mrs.Judith Amoateng and Assembly member for Dzorwulu South.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo, highlighted  the distribution objectives: nurturing girl health and dignity, combatting period poverty, and improving menstrual hygiene. She stated that the distribution of the sanitary pads would benefit 1,000 special needs girls as it demonstrates the Government’s commitment to menstrual health and eliminating financial barriers.

The Headmaster of Dzorwulu Special School expressed delight with the visit, stating it demonstrated that disability was dear to their heart. He described the distribution of pads as a momentous day, highlighting the Regional Minister’s distinction as the first to visit the school.

The event underscored the importance of prioritizing the special needs children , particularly in promoting their health and dignity.
