The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly in partnership with Auburn University Outreach Global (Alabama State, USA) organized a 3-day free health screening exercise for residents of the Municipality from 29^th – 31^st May 2026.

This exercise which took place in two phases: 29^th-30^th May 2026 at the Abelenkpe Presbytarian Church and 31^st May 2026 at the Mempeasem Hospital. This initiative was aimed to detect, manage, and raise awareness of common health conditions affecting residents in the Ayawaso West Municipality.

The wide range of service provided included vital checks, body mass index (BMI) assessment, eye screening, blood tests (blood sugar and cholesterol level), general medical consultation and counselling, medication prescription and administration.  The event was graced by the presence of the  Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Micheal Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Gordon Dormayele, some Assembly members and some officials of the municipal assembly.
